Greetings from the rain clad slopes

Greetings from the rain clad slopes above the sand stretches of spanish banks in vancouver-

A new project is unfurling. My nephew Chris Auchter and I spent a few weeks last summer on a small remote island off the south western shores of Xaadlagwaayee also known as Haida Gwaii also known as the Queen Charlotte Islands. The islands is called Skungwaai also known as Wailing woman also known as Red Cod and also known as Anthony Island. An amazing place. Here the worlds’ largest collection of totems poles in situ and a large and thriving sea bird colony.

In our solar powered cedar longhouse and joined by my wife, launette and our soon to be born child Mirella we passed the days touring the sites with visitors from around the world. But when night fell it was just us alone in the richly clad rocks sailing off into the pacific.

More on our comic book project rising out of this experience.
