images from Japan manga battle 2005
Here is an image of KAMI and myself. It captures the tension and activity, the dance of creating before live audiences. The stunning image is provided by manga sister RELAXMAX from Osaka.
While visiting the Aichi Prefecture Ceramic Museum near Toyota City I created and gave them this fish design to freely use on their ceramics.
The Museum is an amazing place to view their extensive collection of ceramics from around the world, some pieces are 3,000 years old. They also had a large show of Picasso pottery. What impressed me the most was their hospitality as they welcomed us into studios where we were encouraged to paint on a ceramic dish. The ground ochre pigment paint they prepared were especially lovely to work with on earthen ware surfaces.
Thank you to the staff and teachers at the Aichi Ceramic Museum.

Here is where the Manga battle took place.
FYI the original old Converse “Chuck Taylor” sneakers I am wearing are 20 years old and are worth $500 in Nagoya!

Here is part of one of the six canvases created at Expo 2005.
The original canvases are 8 feet high and 6 feet wide and all were completed in 45 minutes each.
All six canvases will be exhibited later this summer in Asia-
