Underscoring the historical and current alliances between the Staastaas and Yahgulanaas lineages this large house front depicts principle heraldic properties. Standing in front is Nangitlagadaa Edenso. Also shown are Ernie Swanson Yeltatzie Yahgulanaas and John Brent Bennett Yahgulanaas, both played important roles in the only second house front raising this past century.

Eight Coppers, A White Raven and Shark mother.
The pole was raised August 19 in Kayang region of Old Massett.
Almost 1,000 witnesses attended a two day Yahgulanaas and Stataas event.
Wilson Brown of the Tsaahlanaas lineage received a copper shield in payment for orchestrating the raising of the pole.

August 24th Haida manga’s Hachidori book has just reached number three seller on Amazon Japan.
A 20,000 copy print run pre sold forcing the publisher to print another 20,000 copies the next day.
Hachidori has now sold 80,000 copies since April 2005. 
The menu is hanging on one of the Red Stump series. Approximately 20 of these Red Stumps were created and used in the parade to the Ministry of Forests Offices on Haida Gwaii in 2001.
And the meal was a typical event at the Studio as the crew produced ” A Tale of Two Shamans”
